MY WORK

Based in Pimlico Central London, I work with actors, models, musicians, dancers, performers, personal brand clients and social media influencers, all with a wide variety of needs for their images. 

I have a lot of experience in different approaches, looks and concepts and am fortunate to work with amazing people, companies and brands, in studio and on location around London and at events including Comic Con, Salon International, London Fashion Week, and my extensive experience and open approach and style allows me to be highly creative and adaptable. 

I'm working from a boutique Penthouse studio setup on a top floor with large balcony and great natural light. Im also working on location around London and in client studios, and unlike some London studios and agencies on a production line, I choose to book only 2 sessions in a day which allows me to focus all my attention without distraction, no clockwatching and no pressure. 

My extra superpowers as an advanced retoucher and compositor enables me to finesse and finish images to a high level in post production. I retouch all of my own work, and also other peoples work by request.

I'm very creative, highly collaborative, calm and easy to work with and I ensure that every session is easy going and relaxed with just a little coaching and directing of poses if needed.

I prefer to setup custom lighting for each person on the spot, its never fixed in place and is based on the talent in front of me and the look and feel you want per concept. I have multiple options when it comes to lighting modifiers and backgrounds to provide looks which can be as classic or creative as needed. Clients tell me they enjoy the creative sessions the most and typically even for the classic sessions I like to finish off with a few creative shots to provide bonus alternatives.   

Reasons to choose a Home-Studio-Based Photographer

1. Affordability. Home-based studios are more affordable with attractive rates compared to traditional studios which are paying out for rent and utilities in a commercial space.
2. Availability. Having calendar availability and scope to take on clients is an advantage  versus some photography studios that have waiting lists and inconvenient hours
3. Convenience. Home-based studios can be more convenient and flexible to accommodate unusual timings weekends and bank holidays, I can be available for evenings and even late nights to suit peoples needs and availabillity of clients schedules more easily.
4. Location: Based central London in Pimlico, easy to get to, nice area, safe area,  less intimidating surroundings than many formal studios that are out of the way or too costly
5. Fast Turnaround. Quicker turnaround in post production getting images out to clients same day or night and snappy responsive communications before and after the shoots.
6. Professionalism. Home-based studios can be just as professional and create amazing pro level shots as traditional studios. This is because photographers who work from home are just as experienced and qualified as photographers who work in commercial studios.

MOBILE PHONE PHOTOGRAPHY

I thought it would be of interest to mention about mobile phone photography as these days most mobile phones are able to produce acceptable photos using whats known as computational photography. Many people can get by with basic shots for selfie type images and indeed some believe they prefer what they see as the instant "real life" type shots from a phone with its small image sensor, and lens distortion over a formal photoshoot.

Smartphones are great for certain images and you really can achieve decent shots, and when you reach the limitations and need something more, a photoshoot session is the next step where photography is more than pressing a button, its the whole concept of the shoot, the lighting setup, background and set, props, balancing the elements of lighting, camera settings, lenses, poses, and working the shots. 

Also beyond a phone image filter, post production is always involved to a certain degree to finesse and finalise a shot, its all about enhancing and improving the image in a natural way, creatively cropping, retouching, finessing colour balance and levels and beyond to finish the image.
